If you haven’t yet heard about the decade’s biggest rotation happening in fashion, it means you’re not listening closely enough (laughs).
The three major house, Gucci, Valentino, and Balenciaga, have swapped their creative directors. In 2025, we now find Demna at Gucci, Alessandro at Valentino, and Pierpaolo at Balenciaga.

For years, Demna Gvasalia, Alessandro Michele, and Pierpaolo Piccioli have embodied three very different yet equally influential visions of fashion. Each, in their own way, has redefined the role of the house they once led: Demna by imposing Balenciaga’s disruptive and ironic aesthetic, Alessandro by giving Gucci a baroque and exuberant identity, and Pierpaolo by elevating Valentino’s couture romanticism. Their rotation in 2025 is therefore not just a game of musical chairs: it is a true creative earthquake that raises questions about the future of these houses and the evolution of the global fashion landscape itself.
Now, here is our selection of iconic pieces that capture the essence of each designer, as a final tribute to their time at these houses.
